SCHOOL DAY
The school day begins at 8:50am and the gates are opened at 8:45am for you to wish your child a good day and then they head straight to class. Any children arriving at school after 8:55am MUST be signed in at the school office, arrivals after 9am will be recorded as late. At the end of the day, children must be collected promptly at 3:05pm (KS1 and Reception) and 3:15pm (KS2).
END OF DAY COLLECTION ARRANGEMENTS
If someone other than a parent is collecting your child you will need to notify the admin team, either at drop off in the morning or by emailing the school we will then notify your child’s teacher.
MEDICATION IN SCHOOL
If your child has a need for ad-hoc medication through the school day you will need to complete a permission to administer medication form with a member of the admin team and supply the medication, in its original packaging. If this is prescribed the medication should include the prescription label
If your child has medical condition then we will complete an individual healthcare plan with you. We will require the prescribed medication to stay at school—GPs will issue a prescription for this—and we will notify you when the prescription needs to be re-ordered before it is due to expire. As with ad-hoc medication, this should be supplied in original packaging, with the prescription label.
ATTENDANCE
Our school target is 97%. Attendance is closely monitored and parents will be contacted if your child’s attendance falls below this.
ILLNESS, APPOINTMENTS, ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
If your child is ill, needs to leave school early or arrives late for any reason, including dental or medical appointments, it is important that you inform the school office via email or by telephone. You should notify the school every day of the absence. If your child has diarrhoea or vomiting they must not return to school until 48 hours have passed from the last instance. You can also review NHS guidance on the following webpage: www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school.
TERM TIME ABSENCE
Requests for term time absence need to be made using the Leave of Absence form available from the school office or our website. Holidays should not be taken during term time and will be recorded as unauthorised and you may incur a fixed penalty of £120 per parent per child, from the local authority. For any international travel please submit copies of both your outbound and return flight bookings. Holidays may only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
